You Don’t Have to Be a Psychic Medium to Know Spirit’s Presence

Aloha,

First of all, thank you so much for your lovely email congratulating me on completing my doctoral studies. I truly appreciate your kind words and support. This week, I’ve been reflecting on a question that often arises in conversations with my clients, regardless of their cultural or ethnic backgrounds: How can I tell which path is meant for me?

It’s not always easy to know what the “right” path is, especially when we’re deeply immersed in the situations we’re trying to resolve. We are intuitive by nature, and yet it can still be difficult for us to trust those inner hunches, especially when choosing the so-called right decision that we hope will lead us down the right path.

So how do we discern which path truly aligns with us?

Personally, I don’t believe there is always a single right path. Every decision and direction we take carries the potential to teach us something valuable whether it be wisdom, resilience, patience, clarity, or something else entirely and can ultimately become the right path. Sometimes, what initially feels like a wrong turn ends up being the very experience that redirects us toward a life of unexpected joy and deep fulfillment.

I’ve had many moments when I was so fixated on a particular outcome that I lost sight of the bigger picture and overlooked the path/option that truly honored my soul’s desire. In those times, it often took a painful event to shift my perspective and lead me in a new direction. Looking back, those difficult experiences were not detours but necessary transitions that guided me to more meaningful places.

If you find yourself facing challenges as a result of a decision or feeling lost along the way, it might be comforting to consider that perhaps no path is inherently a mistake. Even when it feels as though your sense of self is slipping away, the intensity of hardship may soften with time. And maybe, one day, you’ll look back and notice the distance you’ve traveled and the strength that carried you through.

I know these words may feel distant or even infuriating to those in the midst of excruciating, unbearable pain. I’ve been there too in that space multiple times where nothing makes sense and the question “Why is this happening?” keeps repeating. But in hindsight, even those experiences served as pivotal moments, guiding me toward deeper awakening and helping me build a more trusting relationship with the spirit team that supports me daily.

You may not always see, hear, or feel your spirit team but they are there. Your spirit team may include spirit companions, guardian angels, and spirit guides. Definitions vary, but for me:

  • Spirit guides are often assigned to those working as spiritual or psychic mediums.

  • Guardian angels are often deceased loved ones who continue to watch over us.

  • Spirit companions are benevolent spirits that support us through life, regardless of whether one works as a medium.

You don’t have to be a psychic or evidential medium to have a spiritual team. Whether you're aware of them or not, these spirits walk with you through life. You are never alone. Even in the heaviness of life, when their presence feels out of reach, they are still there.

When we consciously call upon their support, the connection grows stronger. Over time, that relationship deepens until we know their presence. What I’ve come to understand is that guidance will eventually be revealed whether through your own inner knowing, through others, or through signs and symbols placed along your path as gentle reminders that you are never alone.

Warmest aloha,

Yoshie
