After a Day Working as a Psychic Medium

Happy Mother’s Day to all who nurture life, whether through human children, animal companions, gardens, or communities of care. This day honors not just biological motherhood but the many ways we hold, heal, and grow the world around us. As the day draws to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the quiet strength and tender care that live within us all—whether we have mothered others, been mothered ourselves, or are in the process of healing parts of that story. This day offers us a chance to honor the nurturing force in our lives, in whatever form it has taken.

On a personal note, I recently completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology after five years of an intense and, at times, arduous journey. It has been a path filled with challenge, growth, and deep reflection. For many years, I’ve had the privilege of walking with others as a psychic medium through the process of mediumship, and now, I feel deeply grateful to bring together both psychological understanding and spiritual wisdom to support the healing journeys of others.

Today, I want to share a line from Rumi that continues to guide me:“Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead, let life live through you.”

So often, we are asked to adapt, to hold steady in uncertainty, and to keep showing up. But healing also means allowing, allowing life to move through us, allowing ourselves to soften where we once held tension, and allowing new truths to emerge in place of old fears. If this day has brought up memories, hopes, or tender emotions, we meet them with patience and grace. Your inner work is sacred, and your path—however winding—is meaningful. As you enter this new week, may you feel supported by the truth that you are growing, you are allowed to rest, and you are enough—just as you are.

Warmest aloha,

Yoshie Miakoda
